Jennifer was born in Waco, Texas were she was given her first name by her brother, who named her after a girl he had a crush on at the time, her last name given to her by her mother and best friend. Once her parents got divorced, she was brought up by her mother in Harker Heights in Texas also.
Young Jennifer always showed a passion for singing and performing. When she was five she started jazz, tap and ballet lessons which led her on the road to joining the Texas Show Group. After five years, Jennifer and her family moved to Los Angeles where she quickly found commercial work and in 1984 a spot on Disney's Kid's Incorporated. After this she tried hard with other TV roles but didn't have much success.
Jennifer came back onto screens in movies, making her film debut in Sister Act 2: Back in the habit, starring Whoopi Goldberg. After starring in two TV shows and releasing two music albums, in 1995 Jennifer was cast in Party of Five.
She was finally put on the Hollywood List of Stars after starring in the horror flick, I Know What You Did Last Summer. She became more and more poular as she starred in more Tv shows, movies, magazines and released more music albums.
2005 came and she managed to grab the role of Melinda Gordon in the CBS drama, Ghost Whisperer.Jennifer is today, still playing the part of Melinda.
